Hi everyone! It’s been a minute since I popped on here… to be honest, the last couple of months have flown by and been so enjoyable.
I used to dread January, February, and March. Maybe it was the post-holiday blues, but I was always wishing we could just fast-forward to warmer and happier times. However, the last three months have been joy-filled! I don’t know about you, but I feel really good about 2022 :)
My favorite feelings lately
Getting lost in a really, really good book (My two "couldn’t get enough” recs are Ghosts and The Paper Palace, but I have also been working my way through the Bridgerton novels)
My weekly fresh flower run
Exchanging voice memos with some of my close girlfriends… it’s become a great sub for long phone calls, especially when we are all on different timezones
Taking Ivy to the park before sunset and watching her run around, happy as a clam
Putting together a playlist of songs that make me feel - my latest here!
The excitement that comes when your favorite podcast drops a new episode (lol)
Gratitude for my awesome team at work
The comfort of coming home to see my parents on the weekends, even if it’s just for an afternoon
Butterflies ;)
A special bridal shower
Last weekend I hosted my childhood friends at my apartment to celebrate our bride-to-be, Grace! I’ve known Grace since we were three, and cherish our friendship and (literal) lifetime of memories so much. She’s getting married in May to the most perfect guy for her and I love their story. She’s also the first of the five of us to get married, so all of this feels extra sweet and special.
All the girls wanted to drink out of my coupe glasses! They do make everything feel extra fun and fancy ;)
My dining nook is a little too small for hosting more than a couple of people, so I set up this table in my studio space and we served the food out in the kitchen. It worked perfectly!
I picked up an array of ranunculus, spray roses, and Queen Anne’s lace from The Bud Stop (my favorite neighborhood spot)!
Napkins are Julia Amory, tablecloth was an Etsy find from when I lived in Nashville. If you want something similar, just search “Indian blockprint” and you’ll find so many great options!
We all agreed that eating a smorgasbord of food is way more fun than just one entree! Grace is vegetarian so I stuck to meatless dishes like a simple arugula salad, the Barefoot Contessa orzo pasta salad, my favorite roasted chickpea & cauliflower recipe, burrata, hummus, yummy fresh-baked bread, and of course, cupcakes to top it off!
All five of us have taken such different paths and have developed our own lives, passions, and personalities since meeting as kids, but coming together to reconnect and celebrate made me feel so proud of each one of these girls. It’s such a comforting feeling to sit in a space with women who have seen you in so many different stages of life and have encouraged you through all of them!
On my camera roll lately
